Inspiration for the book:  As a youngster I read a lot of romance novels, which I felt sweptaway by the romance and the storyline. There were few books which reflected the experiences of a black young professional woman navigating love, relationships, and uncertainties. I wanted to create a young Black woman facing dating dilemmas, and uncertainty who is supported by strong loving family and unwavering friends.
